Eschatology Part I: In Death

Darkest of days

when sun mates with moon

but there isn’t just one

there are two

Women shoot arrows at the sky

men pound drums and chant

Atop a mountain

two lovers

throw themselves into the abyss

In the alley

a knife

twists like a doorknob

taking a man’s life

Across the desert

mothers mash

the ashes of their dead

into their lunch

And I’m there too

living the life of a thousand people

all at once
