A Reflection On Apologies

Why do you run before

my apologies have a chance

to bloom?

Is my sorry

not the color of a rose?

Does it not smell of

regret, sorrow, remorse?

Would a different word,

a softer word,

thaw the forgiveness in your eyes?

Lo siento?

Je suis désolé?

ごめんなさい?

对不起?

미안 해요?

je t’aime?

Te amo?

Ah, mixing languages… what a great idea, I love mix English and French in some of my poems. You poem reminds me of Madonna’s song “Sorry” – I especially like it because of languages mixing. Great piece Benjamin!
