Once Upon A Time

A blush heated the winter’s wind

Setting off fire alarms in frozen depths

Until glaciers of heat incrementally

Crept toward a rock and a puddle

Before caressing them into a mountain and an ocean

Refusing to separate like the cold that touches snow

The evening light brought the fingertips of time

A once upon a once        entombed in the humidity of summer
