Not Even God Knows Why

We leash lies

Tie strings of deception

From our tongues to ears and hearts

Or build walls 100 feet tall

To hang love out of reach

Or even why we mash trust to powder

Like we might with pestle and mortar

Or coffin honesty

Resurrect hate

Wake greed

Cuddle jealously

Diaper wrath

Crown insecurity

Court forgiveness

No

Not even God knows

Once again, wonderful last line – I love the play on words, “God only knows” / “Not even God knows”
