I am neither all
Nor right

Neither whole
Nor some

Neither extra
Nor ordinary

Neither A
Nor OK

YET

I am not
And bad

Am no
And where?

Am down
And cast

Am fault
And less

Am un
And finished

Beautifully captured my friend. You have a way with words. The short lines perfectly mimick the feelings of depression and are exactly to the point. I love that about it.

Thanks. I always thought words had a way with me, but perhaps that is not so much different from me having a way with words. Thanks again for the comment. Always appreciated.

  12. Miranda Stone says:

Wow, this is powerful. And many of us can relate to all these feelings, Benjamin. (I wonder if creativity and depression go hand in hand?) Of course, I’m still envious of your cleverness. Well done, and if things get too dark, you can always reach out to me, okay?

    • bejamin4 says:

Thanks, Miranda. I don’t think depression necessarily goes hand in hand with creativity, but I do think that depress people are often drawn toward creativity. Though many think that creativity can often lead to depression, as artists often tend to bring the outlook of the world inward and think on problems. I guess it will always be one of those unanswered questions.

I hope I’ve outgrown my difficult dark stage. Thanks again.

  13. anthonydaygrandin says:
