Soul Of Your Soul

Maybe you were there
With your realer body
Your weightless
Yet weighty body
Your body of bodies

The body of your soul
In which rests
The lips of your lips
The hands of your hands
The heart of your heart

Maybe you were there
In mind
In spirit
In want

I think you were there
Even if you weren’t there
For the soul, the mind, love
Can never be confined by the coffin of time
When there is only an imaginary distance between two hearts

Beautiful, Benjamin. The way you describe the “body of the soul,” it becomes just as tangible and concrete as the physical body.

  3. i truly love and appreciate this poem. you’ve excelled in bringing to life the inner most parts of who we are, the emotions & regrets we can feel at life-changing moments when we aren’t sure if we’ve made the right decision. thanks for reminding us that physical presence isn’t the only presence we can experience, nor is it the most important.

Thank you. Someone told me long ago the mind is very important and special because it is not trapped by time or space or place. The mind can go anywhere, anytime.

Beautiful ending to a beautiful poem “Can never be confined by the coffin of time/ When there is only an imaginary distance between two hearts”, amazing lines 😀
