Just You, Just Me

I don’t want God in place of your face
I don’t want stars instead of your eyes
I care for neither color on your cheeks
Nor falsities upon your lips

I don’t have to fall, or faint, or hurt,
Or count, or wish, or dream

I don’t need always, forever, eternity
nor a nest, a child, an end

I do not need to conquer anything
I don’t want to wear armor
I don’t even want to wear clothes

I want:
Just you, just me.

Simple and I think, the truest form of love. =)

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if love could be this simple? Without the armor, without the ego and need to cling so tightly. Splendid writing, Benjamin.
