My narcissistic friend
Just told me that
Her favorite game is chess
Because it forces me
To watch her every move

  1. Asked curiously…. what is it that finds you choosing a friend with a narcissistic essence? πŸ™‚

    • bejamin4 says:

I am a flawed human being that tries to befriend everyone, even those who may seem less deserving. I always give people the benefit of the doubt, and then it feels too late to get out when I should. But that is only my answer to a question asked curiously. Truly, thanks for reading and commenting!

      • I trust you realize the inquiry was in a light-hearted vein, Ben. I applaud and admire your “flaw.”

      • bejamin4 says:

Yes, I thought so :). I never thought otherwise. I always appreciate your comments and you taking the time to read my work. It really means a lot. I hope to explore your blog more in the future.

At least she understands herself, and your favorite game is?

  3. jadedmess says:

Oh dear, good thing chess is ‘one’ of my favorite games, not my favorite. Whew πŸ˜‰

  4. I never learned how to play chess, lol….but wouldn’t want my every move to be watched even if I did πŸ˜‰

  5. amoafowaa says:

Benjamin4, you’ve gained my respect and love. Blessings.

  6. mihrank says:

great words and poem. It’s important lines of words!

  7. Phen Weston says:

Such a well thought out poem. Such a great theme and how you’ve worded it. Beyond perfect my friend πŸ™‚

  8. Miranda Stone says:

With friends like these, who needs enemies? Very clever, Benjamin, as always.

  9. Wonderful, as always. Found myself nodding and smiling at this one.

  10. Rob McShane says:

nice one….good take on narcissism – you only get to see those she thinks are her best….and only on the ones on the board!! πŸ™‚

  11. Mike says:

    ^Standing Ovation^

  12. Johnny Ojanpera says:

Benjamin, you have already won the game if you have identified your opponent as a narcissist. Winning means you cannot win. πŸ˜‰

  13. stacilys says:

Oh yea, now that is narcissism. And maybe a huge need for acceptance. Maybe a little self-absorbed. πŸ™‚
