Only marry the one
Who you would love to
Travel alongside of toward
The nine circles of Hell

Ideally because he/she would
Make you smile as if you were
Traveling toward the door of Heaven

  1. Phen Weston says:

Very clever my friend, I like your thinking πŸ™‚

  2. InfiniteZip says:

    We travel a lot…but I don’t remember hell…unless it was at an airport on a long delay for a flight…that counts right?😊

  3. For better or worse, right? There is so much truth in what you are saying. Ideally your hell-traveling companion knows how to make you smile in the worst of situations, knows how to comfort you, and knows how to get you out of sticky situations. I’d rather be in love with someone and have the worst of experiences in life than be alone but have no “problems”…. if you find the right person, even trips to the grocery store or at the dentist can be fun and a good adventure. πŸ™‚

    Yep. That’s right!

  9. Miranda Stone says:

I like the message of your poem, Benjamin, that even the most difficult and trying times can be tolerated if we have the love and support of someone.

  11. redgladiola says:

I think there’s a reason there’s a “in sickness and health,” etc in those wedding vows! Have a great New Year!

  12. You’re always spot on! πŸ™‚

  13. Heartafire says:

Hear hear! otherwise what’s the point?
